SSAES Project Manager
Position summary: Under the direction of the Head of School, perform a variety of management duties, involving both specific routines and broadly defined policies and procedures; work cooperatively with staff, students, visitors, and parents, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Hours: 10-month position (20-25 hrs./week).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Management
- Generate and maintain various lists, schedules, and calendars.
- Update the annual school and monthly calendar.
- Coordinate extracurricular programming including after school activities, uniforms, and picture arrangement.
- Ensure the upkeep of all supplies and materials in common faculty areas (ie. resource room and faculty/staff room).
- Update and maintain student files.
- Coordinating custodial care of preschool and elementary buildings as well as school events.
- Maintain classroom key distribution and record-keeping.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Able to fluently work with administration, faculty, and parents to build a tightly integrated and smooth running school.
Knowledge of:
- Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Record-keeping techniques.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Knowledge of Armenian language is not required but preferred.
Ability to:
- Compose routine correspondence independently and timely.
- Work independently with minimal direction.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Learn, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Compile and maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Maintain confidentiality.

Preschool Assistant Teacher
St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School (SSAES) is seeking a full time preschool assistant teacher who is bilingual (Western Armenian/English) and preferably certified as “Teacher” or “Lead Teacher” by the Department of Early Education and Care.
SSAES is a child-centered American-Armenian Institution committed to academic excellence. The school is Licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).
The candidate’s role is to assist the classroom teacher to carry on her day-to-day duties in:
- Maintaining a clean, safe and healthy classroom environment
- Supporting the social and emotional development of the children
- Advancing the motor and intellectual competencies of the students
- Ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to the children’s needs
- Providing an integrated curriculum that meets the needs of individual children
The candidate should:
- Be proficient in the use of written and spoken language (English and Armenian)
- Be responsible in job duties such as taking care of the children’s needs, preparing equipment and materials in advance
- Work with other staff members to form a positive supportive team atmosphere
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward teaching as a profession
- Help when a substitute teacher is needed
- Attend all staff meetings, parent meetings, and other mandatory or scheduled trainings
- Participate and fulfill the required professional development activities
- Obtain or is willing to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification
- Relate to families in a positive and respectful manner
- Demonstrate competency in classroom and student behavior management skills
- Help the classroom teacher in preparing for and attend established traditional school sponsored activities (e.g., Open House/Curriculum Night, Christmas Concert, and Graduation Ceremony).

K-5 Teacher
St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School is seeking an experienced and certified elementary teacher (K-5). The St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School located in Watertown, Mass, is a child-centered American-Armenian Institution committed to academic excellence. Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
- overseeing and implementing Reading, Language Arts, Math Science and Social Studies curriculum and instruction according to the Massachusetts Curriculum Standards.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution;
- Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License;
- Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and highly qualified.
- Knowledge of Armenian is not a requirement.
