After School & Enrichment Programs

After School Late Stay Program

The late stay program for students in grades 1-5 is held Monday – Thursday from dismissal at 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, in the Elementary Building (ACEC). Supervised by our elementary teachers, Late Stay provides a quiet, safe space for students to do their homework or read a book in the supervising teacher’s classroom. (It is not a tutoring session, which can be scheduled with the appropriate teacher.) Once homework is completed students can read or engage in quiet games in the classroom. Students should bring a snack from home to eat, as well as a book to read.

Afterschool Late Stay is billed through FACTS. See fee schedule below.

After School Enrichment Program

Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions of the Afterschool Enrichment Program are offered annually, and families have the opportunity to register for each session. Program registration happens online and is on a first come, first served basis. For a class to be held, a minimum of 8 students must register. Classes are limited in size. Once a class is at capacity enrollment, a time-stamped waitlist is generated. Kindergarten through grade 5 students may attend late stay after an SSAES afterschool enrichment class for an additional fee.

3-D Printing/CAD

The 3D Printing/CAD class is offered at two levels: beginners and returning. It is an opportunity for students to learn Tinkercad, a beginner-friendly 3D computer aided design program, appreciate what 3D modeling is, and then create objects like keychains, name tags, block shapes, and with greater experience more complex items. Returning for the 2025-2026 school year.

Arts & Culture

Arts & Crafts

This class is an opportunity for students to further their art interests and skills while having fun. All supplies are included. This class is offered in two sections: Nursery I & II and Kindergarten – grade 2.

Խաղանք ու խօսինք  “Khaghank oo Khoseenk”

This program aims to increase students’ proficiency in conversational Armenian through creative play. In a lively, cheerful environment, students learn new vocabulary and strengthen their Armenian conversational skills through short songs, interactive group games, and role play in simulated real-life situations. This class is for students in Kindergarten – grade 2.

Chess

Chess Class

Chess Class by Chess Wizards focuses on the royal game of chess, to improve students’ cognitive development which includes decision making, creative thinking and critical thinking skills. This is a great opportunity for students who have never played chess, to learn and to help beginners advance. Chess Class is for students in grades 1-3.

Advanced Chess Club

The Advanced Chess Club for students in grades 2-5 is by invitation only. Interested new students play in a tournament to place into the club.

Movement

Yoga

Pretzel Kids Yoga helps children stay physically fit and deal more effectively with the pressures of school and peers. This program incorporates traditional yoga postures with imaginative yoga games and relaxation techniques. Children laugh, learn, exercise, breathe, relax and leave classes with big SMILES on their faces. This class is offered either in one section: Kindergarten – grade 5, or in two sections: Kindergarten – grade 2 and grades 3-5.

Zumba

Students enjoy the rhythmic journey of dance and movement!  Zumba helps keep the body in shape, improve balance, flexibility, and range of motion. This class is offered in two sections: Nursery I & II and Kindergarten – grade 2.

Sports

Afterschool Sports

This program is to foster teamwork and fine and gross motor skills along with fun coordination drills and sports games. This class is offered in two sections: Nursery I & II and Kindergarten – grade 2.

Basketball and More

Students will have the opportunity to engage in physical exercise, develop sports skills, and foster teamwork. They will be guided with skill development, strategy, and the rules of the sport. This class is for students in grades 3-5.
