St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School (SSAES) is honored to receive a Kindness Corner collection of 20 books from Ella’s Way. This donation was inspired by the life of Zovic Majarian, “to honor her family and memorialize her kindness,” wrote author and Ella’s Way Founder Sherry Cerino. Mrs. Majarian was the mother of SSAES alumna Sarin Majarian Barsoumian, who is a “dear friend” of the Cerinos, and the grandmother of SSEAS alumnus Samuel Barsoumian and current student Christian Barsoumian.
Based in North Andover, Ella’s Way is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote kindness and encourage acceptance of differences as young children begin to form their first friendships. “Our students will benefit greatly from these wonderful books that support the school’s CARES initiative, a major focus of which is kindness,” noted SSAES Head of School Dr. Garine Palandjian, “and we are most grateful to Ella’s Way and the Barsoumian Family for this heartfelt gift of books.”
CARES stands for Cooperation, Accountability, Respect. Empathy, and Self-Control. Students can be “Caught Caring” by faculty and recognized weekly to reinforce the character traits and positive behaviors SSAES strives to develop as a school community.
