The Foundation for Armenian Youth awarded a grant totaling $10,000 to the St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School (SSAES) in support of its recent technology refresh project. This technology refresh grant is vital to fully integrate key updates to school-wide use of technology for teaching and school operations.
Over the years, SSAES has actively supported embracing digital tools not only for teachers to engage students beyond traditional instructional methods but also to help streamline and modernize essential school processes such as attendance, lesson-planning, communication, and student record-keeping. By updating these approaches with technology, SSAES is better preparing students for future academic success while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day practices.
As part of the school’s ongoing commitment to enhancing education, SSAES will use this grant to add the necessary technology to current resources for students, faculty members, and administrative staff, including an Assistant Head of School, a position new to the school.
Teaching students to use technology and media responsibly is part of today’s education and provides children with lifelong skills. Streamlining operations through digital solutions not only greatly benefits both the school and parent community on a daily basis, but also frees up more instructional time for faculty benefiting students. Laptops will allow our faculty and staff to move from classroom to classroom or if needed, to take presentations off campus for greater community outreach and education.
SSAES would like to acknowledge the past generous grant support from the Foundation for Armenian Youth which brought Chromebooks into the classrooms and upgraded them when needed. The school is very grateful to the Foundation for this current grant that helps the school integrate technology more intentionally and effectively.
